Jessica Biel: Humiliated for the Last Time

Days before they publicly announced their breakup, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel struggled to keep the tension between them a secret.

?The split was a long time coming,? says a friend of the once happy couple. Adds a pal of Jessica?s, ?The rumors of his cheating had been getting to her for a while.?

Though Justin, 30, reportedly got close to several hot young actresses, Jessica, 29, ignored the talk ? until last October, when she heard reports that he had hooked up with The Daily Show correspondent Olivia Munn. ?Jessica felt like a fool about all the rumors about Justin with all of these girls,? from Rihanna to Kate Hudson, says the pal. Justin denied everything, both privately and publicly, ?but after a while, Jessica couldn?t believe him.?

That lack of trust gradually tore at Jessica. Though he assured her that he was being faithful, the two found themselves spending more and more time apart, says her pal. And when she heard more rumors, that he had been secretly romancing his Friends With Benefits co-star Mila Kunis, she could no longer let it roll off her back, the pal adds.

Whether or not he had really cheated on her, one thing was clear: Justin was still not ready to settle down ? and odds were, he wouldn?t be ready for a while. ?He has told her he wants to focus on his movie career, but the fact is he wants to play the field again,? according to one of Justin?s friends. ?He doesn?t want to be tied down.?

But time heals all wounds. And down the line, Jessica?s friends hope, she?ll find a man who can give her love ? and a real commitment.
